Township Parks System

Community Park

Community Park is located at 1505 Bond Street.  It consists of 21.9 mostly wooded acres bordering Brandywine Creek.  Originally the site served as a Lodge for the Fraternal Order of the Odd Fellows and was purchased by the Township in 1972 for a park.  Amenities include baseball/softball field, playground equipment, picnic tables and grills, hiking trails along Brandywine Creek, trout fishing and a community park building that can accommodate approximately 75 people and is available for rent on a first come-first serve basis.  Please see the Park Rental Agreement/Park Rules for details.

Losensky Park

This park located at M-51 North and Pucker Street at the old Niles Hydroelectric Dam is approximately 13 acres and named after the late Charles Losensky, a Township Trustee.  It has frontage on the Dowagiac Creek and is a favorite park for sport fishing.  Amenities include picnic tables, grills and benches.

South Fireman’s Park

This park is located directly behind the Township Hall on Bell Road.  It is the host park for the summer Cal-Ripkin baseball program and the Niles-Brandywine girls’ softball program.  It is by far the busiest park during the summer with many parents, grandparents and visitors watching area youth participating in ball games and tournaments.  Concessions are sold during the season and other amenities include play structures, tennis courts, picnic tables, grills and one pavilion for use at no charge.

North Fireman’s Park

This one acre mini park is located along M-51 and provides playground equipment, two benches, two grills and a covered picnic shelter.

Fulkerson Park

This 4.2 acre park is located at the corner of Fulkerson Road and 17th Street.  Amenities include tennis courts, basketball courts, a small ball field, play structures, picnic tables and grills.

Samson Park

This 3.5 acre neighborhood park is located on Knight Road east of Holmes Drive.  Amenities include playground equipment (Tot Lot), a picnic shelter/pavilion, picnic tables, grill, four benches, and a winter toboggan run.

Brandywine Creek Nature Park

This park is located at the corner of S. 3rd Street and U.S. 12 and is owned by the State of Michigan and managed by the Township.  Brandywine Creek, a designated Trout stream, winds through the property.  It is another one of our popular fishing parks.
